  • Welcome Message from our Board

The International Endohernia Society (IEHS) defines itself as a global network which is constituted of surgeons with particular interest in laparo-endoscopic hernia repair. This network is characterized by high effectivity and low administrative expenses. The main goals of the IEHS are 1. Transfer of laparo-endoscopic techniques in hernia surgery to less developed countries and countries outside the western world and 2. Encouragement to set up hernia centers as well as their continued support to serve as “Lighthouses” for excellence in laparo-endoscopy in the respective countries. Foundations of national chapters which cooperate closely with each other under the auspice of the IEHS are highly appreciated. Mutual exchange of knowledge and practical skills as well as common scientific studies are the best but also indispensable ways to improve daily patient care. In this sense with great pleasure we would like to give all of you a warm welcome to join IEHS.
